PHOTOGRAPHY The second section offers a broad overview of Russian photography in the 1920s and 1930s, mainly through the work of Rodchenko. Both he and other artists such as El Lissitzky and Ignatovich presented a new form of visual perception in their photographs. They achieved this through the introduction of new subjects from the modern age such as machinery and avant-garde architecture, as well as the use of daring compositions, bold spatial reductions and acute foreshortening. |
