Nuremberg

The technical skills of Nuremberg craftsmen at the end of the 15th century resulted in one of the most dazzling periods in German art. The level of mastery achieved by the city's goldsmiths is reflected in a cup whose style points to the arrival of new aesthetic ideas. Working in this world, Dürer produced designs for objects such as the two stainedglass windows made by Veit Hirsvogel the Elder. The exhibition also looks at some of the commissions that Dürer received from the city, such as An Emperor with the dalmatic with the Imperial Eagles.
