En la micromuestra tomada de la corbata se comprobó que las capas de pintura estaban aplicadas con un temple graso (teñidas en el laboratorio con un colorante rojo para localizarlas) intercaladas con otras a base de aceite de lino y / o resina de almáciga (se distinguen como finas capas que no se han teñido con el colorante rojo específico para proteínas). Este corte estratigráfico ilustra la distribución de capas presente en la compleja técnica empleada por Otto Dix en la obra estudiada. Tomadas con objetivo MPlan (20X/0,40).
The microsample taken from the tie shows successive thin layers containing tempera grassa (staining red to acid fuchsine in the laboratory) alternating with brushstrokes using linseed oil and/or mastic resin (distinguishable as thin layers that do not stain to a specific protein-selective dye). This stratigraphic section illustrates the complex layering used by Dix in this painting. Taken with Mplan objective lens (20X/0.40).
