La radiografía nos muestra la suma de los estratos que componen esta obra, desde el soporte con el embarrotado hasta la capa pictórica, y nos informa sobre su estado de conservación y el proceso de creación del artista.
La comparación entre la imagen radiográfica y la imagen visible permite también desvelar los cambios de composición efectuados durante la creación de la pintura.
Los resultados que se muestran en la imagen de RX dependen de la densidad y de la estructura de las capas de la pintura.
Las zonas que poseen más capas de pintura y son más densas radiográficamente, dificultan el paso de la radiación a la placa por lo que en la imagen de RX se muestran en tonalidades grisáceas o blanquecinas.
Superimposition
The X-ray shows us all of the layers that make up this work, from the support with its cradle to the last pictorial layer, and provides us with information about its conservation state and the artist's creative process. A comparison of the X-ray image and the visible image also reveals the changes made to the composition while it was being painted.
The results shown in the X-ray depend on the density and structure of the paint layers. The densest areas with the most paint layers make it difficult for the radiation to penetrate to the photographic plate, which is why the X-ray image is shown in greyish or whitish tones.
